AVAnaanu TARam - Part 2

For those who have not read part 1 please go through Start of story
This part is more like a narrative with Scene's 13-50 capsuled in a single statement. This deals more with what goes through in the mind of the hero - Jk while watching the much cherished movie in 3D experience.

Scene 11:
The scene is now infront of IMAX. The group, with Jk at the helm is waiting for the doors to opened. CG shows Time : 22:30 hrs and the gates have been opened
Jk: Atlast guys, here is the moment that we have impatiently awaited.
YM3: Yo, we made it. 3 cheers for the entire team
YM1:(As he points to the small print out kept near the door) Jk, the film does not have a single break and lasts 2 hrs 46 minutes. Do we need to buy something now?
Jk: This sore throat is killing me. I dont want anything. Do you guys require something? We can buy it now.
YM3: If you are not having anything then we also dont need a thing. What say comrades
All in Unison : Yeah.

Slowly they walk in and sees the guy near the gate distributing the Special glasses for 3D viewing. It is the first time that Jk is watching a 3D movie and he is visibly excited. He gets the glass in a flash and tries on his face. Luckily it is big enough to allow him to keep his high powered spectacles. That way he can clearly see the movie. Thank God.

They quickly settle down to the seats allotted for them. C29 to C33. Third row from the screen. Usually Jk detests sitting infront but some reliable sources had told him that in IMAX any seat is equivalent as we have 360 degree visual experience.

The screen shows the IMAX logo and every one has put on their glasses to savour the experience. But wait a minute. Jk's face doesn't reflect any happiness. Let us get into his brain and understand what is going on.

Scene 12:
X Ray/ CG view of Jk's brain. We can clearly make out the 3D glasses infront of his eyes. Light is coming through the glass and hitting retina from there it is focusing on to the retina.
Jk: Dude I cant make out any difference between this and 2D.
YM3: Take out the glass and see.
Again back to the Xray vision, we see Jk removing the 3D glasses and now there is a minor variation in the focusing pattern. The 2 rays from upper lowermost ends which were present earlier is now absent after it passes the retina.
Jk: Yeah, I understand. But it is not very marked. You hardly notice it.
YM3: You will, once you start watching the film.
Jk: Ok, lets see.

Scenes 13 - Scene 50

This is where the actual CGI comes into picture. For fully understanding this, the reader has to watch the movie Avatar by James Cameron in 2D/3D as the scenes are exactly similar to the ones in that movie. Since it is difficult to put into words the actual work of CGI it is mandatory that the film should be seen fully. This part has lots of action,romance, dialogues which will earn revenue for the producer.

The only major difference is that we have a peek inside Jks mind and a dialogue between him and his Mind after every 10 scenes where he tries to differentiate between 2D and 3D experience.Also we have Jk removing the glasses after every 20 minutes due to strain to eyes and also to understand the difference practically. The points that come across his mind are capsuled below.

Point 1:
JK: I feel the brightness is bit less.
Mind: That is because you are bit tired and the glasses have tint.

Point 2:
Jk:Wow, the shot of the Pandora jungle is superb. Really I feel like its right infront of me.
Mind: See this is the beauty of 3D.

Point 3:
Jk: I am not able to get the happiness that I want in majority of the scenes
Mind: That is because you have very high expectations from 3D and believes that it would be a surreal experience.In actuality 3D does nothing but adds one more dimension to the picture infront, so you do not feel the presence of actual screen.

Point 4:
Jk: The story is very predictable.It has dampened my spirits.
Mind: No one has said that plot is World class. Another problem is that you have already seen Matrix and Terminator and numerous other Sci-Fi movies. The idea is almost bits and pieces of each.

Point 5:
Jk: The movie is again hinting subtly at deforestation, Human as a Parasite/Virus, Tyranny of America and their I am the boss attitude.
Mind: What you perceive is based on how you view this world. You think that
a.man has to be in tune with nature as per the Pagan system, which is good.
b. The quick development of civilisation at the cost of nature has brought about all the disastrous consequences, which is is also true
c. America, due to its military might, threatens other small countries and profit from the forced co-operation/subjugation. This can be viewed either from Pro-America view or anti-America view. You would not have taken an anti-America view if you were an American citizen. This is what is called sub-concsious feeling of racial superiority.

Point 6:
Jk: Film is drawing to an end, and the ending clearly indicates sequels will be there.
Mind: This is business my lad. Nobody will kill a goose who can lay a golden egg.

Point 7:
Jk: Why am I not feeling happy after seeing such an epic movie. Visually it was far better than 2012 and I have seen it in 3D after going through a Near-to-Hollywood experience.
Mind: There are 3 main reasons to it.
a. The hype that this had on your mind was not at all in sync with actual reality. You thought 3D would completely transform the movie.
b. The plot of the movie was not at all interesting. This dampened the visual perception also. There was nothing novel in the idea behind the movie.
c. You have a really sore throat and you have not brought an Over coat which is giving you trouble. Add to that you have High powered Viewing glass(of the range of -4) along with a seat in 3rd row from the screen. You could not have enjoyed like how a back seat guy had enjoyed this movie.

Scene 51:
Zooming out from these very lines and slowly back to the same views of JK sitting infront of Dell laptop in his tube-lit room. Camera is then zoomed to his watch which shows 06:30 hours.

CG shows Friday, December 2009.

Camera then zooms back onto Jk who is smiling now and then image freezes. The title of Movie is displayed to right of face "AVAnaanu TARam"

Credits start rolling after this. So thus my friends my first attempt at screenplay has come to a conclusion. The second part has been written bit awkwardly and is devoid of the drama as in the first owing to poor physical condition that I am in currently. Also there is herculean task of watching Pazhassi Raja, 3 Idiots and Rocket singh infront of me for today.
